What is Scopial and how does it work?
Scopial is an online community based T-shirt design company with an ongoing design contest. Scopial.com draws together designers to compete for getting their designs printed on T-shirts. Designs are submitted on Scopial.com for the community to vote on them on a scale of 1 to 5. Every fortnight the winning designs are printed on premium quality T-shirts and the competition winners are given a cash prize of US$400. The winners get recognition as their names are printed on every T-shirt label which bears their respective design along with a full length interview which is published on the website. Apart from this, a user can enjoy community and sharing features like blogging, user profile creation, inter user messaging, etc.
How can I participate in Scopial’s design contest?
For participation you need to register at the website. There are no registration fees. Once you have registered, you are all set to submit your design, vote other designs, post comments, post your blog, submit your photos, etc. You get access to all the happening activities at Scopial. For submitting a design you need to visit the ‘Submit Design’ page under the ‘Participate’ and follow the simple procedure which is very clearly specified along with a video tutorial. Once you have submitted your design, you are in the contest.
What do I get as a winner?
The winners receive a cash reward of Rs. 20,000, a free T-shirt with your design respective design printed on it, Rs. 5,000 on every reprint, your name is printed on label of every T-shirt which bears your design.
Also your interview will be published on the website where your work will be showcased.
What happens if my design is declared winner?
The winning designer is informed through a mail. After which you are provided access to our FTP where you are required to upload your designs’ high resolution version. The high resolution version should be at-least 300 pixels/inch. Once the design is saved on our FTP, the winner is rewarded the cash prize within next 7 days through PayPal, cheque or direct third party transfer to the account of the winner based on the location of the winner.
What if my design does not win?
We get a pool of designs everyday and only few are declared winner. Every design that is submitted on Scopial remains on the website for a period of total 90 days and for these 90 days the voting on the design is open. The designs which are not declared winner are removed from the website after the period of 90 days.
How are my rights as a designer safeguarded by Scopial?
For us the interest of the designers holds great value and our efforts are all directed to ensure the same. A designer has to submit low resolution (unprintable) version of their design on the website. A design is printed by us only when it’s declared winner.
The period, for which a design remains on Scopial, the rights of the design are held by Scopial and Scopial can use the design for marketing purpose, can make changes to it, etc. If a design wins, the winner is rewarded and the rights of the design are transferred permanently to Scopial. If a design is not declared winner, then after 90 days the design is removed from the website and the rights of the design are transferred back to the owner of the design.
Can I buy designs which are up for voting?
Scopial is based on the concept of mass customization and only the winning designs are printed on T-shirts and sold on the website. The designs which are in the vote gallery are up for voting and are not printed on T-shirts until and unless they win in the contest.
So you can only buy the designs which are showcased in our ‘Shop’ section.
Can I use Scopial’s design submission gear for commercial use or for participating on some other website?
No! The submission gear available at Scopial can only be used for participation at Scopial. Use of the gear in any other manner without prior permission will fall under the category of copyright infringement. The respective user in this case will be liable to Indian jurisdiction.
Scopial holds the complete rights for the submission gear.
How can I buy the T-shirts?
For buying a T-shirt all you need is to add the product of your choice in your cart. Then you can follow simple and unique one page checkout facility for making the payment. You can use your credit card for making the payment or can use your PayPal account for transfer of the asked amount.
How is my credit card details secured?
The payment gateway used by Scopial has a 128/256-bit encryption SSL certificate. Hence whenever you place an order you will see a padlock on your browser which symbolizes that your order is secured. Each server is behind the state of the art firewall with real-time monitoring, including a live infiltration detection system. Multiple fiber carriers enter the data center to guard against failure. The credit card numbers are fully encrypted with state-of-the-art firewall protection. The code based used on the website for order processing and payment is audited by the top of the line IBM security software.
What all credit cards do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
What is your 'return policy'?
All the efforts of designers, community members and Scopial team are aimed at creating something exceptional. We are very confident that you will be happy with your purchase and every penny spent will be worth it. But if due to some factors you are not pleased with the delivered product you can get the refund within 60 days of purchase. Simply drop us a mail at arshia.khan@scopial.com including the order number and the reason behind the return. You can ask for a different T-shirt or equivalent number of Scopial points for making a purchase later. You can also opt for your money if none of the above refund mode suits your requirement. All the return products must be unwashed. The cost of shipping will be borne by us only in case of a product defect or shipping error.
